Journey to the Light was founded by Brennan Wegener, a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend whose life was shaped by service, faith, and a deep compassion for others.

Brennan was a disabled U.S. Army veteran who served during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Like many who serve, he carried invisible wounds home with him. He knew firsthand the weight of trauma, loss, and the long road of navigating life after service. But Brennan believed that struggle did not disqualify a person from purpose. In fact, he believed it often revealed it.

Through his own journey of healing, Brennan felt called to walk alongside others who were hurting. He became deeply involved in supporting veterans, first responders, and individuals facing crisis, often serving as a chaplain and advocate. Brennan had a rare ability to meet people exactly where they were, without judgment, and remind them that they were not alone and not forgotten.

Brennan’s vision was simple but powerful: to be a light for others in their darkest moments. He believed in showing up, listening, praying when needed, and helping people find practical resources and renewed hope. He didn’t just want to talk about faith or healing. He lived it through action, service, and genuine connection.

Brennan’s life was marked by both profound strength and deep vulnerability. He understood pain because he lived it, and that understanding became the foundation of his compassion. Even in his own hardest seasons, Brennan remained committed to helping others find their way forward.

After Brennan’s passing, his family, friends, and community committed to carrying his vision forward. Journey to the Light exists because Brennan’s heart continues to matter. His story continues to matter. And the light he carried continues to shine through every life touched by this mission.

Brennan’s legacy is not defined by how his life ended, but by how deeply he loved, served, and believed in others.
